fiskars Blog and fundraising for breast cancer

Hi all,

not even goignt o mention about the time between posts lol. So just wanted tp pop in- so that maybe someone might look and go over and find somehting they like at the Fiakars blog

the Fiskars ambassodors have got loads of stuff donated for us to bid on. All the funds raised go to Breast Cancer - GREAT cause.

So head on over and maybe you'll grab a bargain. I have a layout that I will scrap for someone up for offer. At the moment it is only $5 - noone knows me or loves me anymore lol. So if you would like a layout crafted with the utmost care ( I am a perfectionest), by me- go and grab a bargain. I would put more than 25 bucks worth of product on it- so if you even hate my layouts at 5 bucks you could rip it apart adn use the product lol

Anyway... I am not promising anything- but I'll try to get back her and let you know what has been happening- or at least let myslef feel like i am getting my 10 bucks a month worht outta this blog roflol

Hi,

Well- fancy a new post being about foxtel lol! Anyway.. very boring, but wanted to record we got foxtel today- the first time ever. I have been resisting for years- BUT they were having a really good promotion that meant everything was free for the first month and then we only had to enter into a 12 month contract- so we did it :) We have IQ for the first month too- maybe keep going- CAN WE AFFORD ALL THIS lol. I have justified it under the premise of " It will have great programs for school' lol- We'll see :)

Anyway..we are all exciting about it atm :)mmmm what else is happening????? Big news since late last year - wow- old news now I guess- but not for anyone else lol- Jeremy has gone back to his Mum again :( Sigh- I am over the whole toing ang froing thing :( He said it was becasue he missed Mum too much and wanted to go to high school with his year 6 friends- and FAIR ENOUGH too :) So..... There you go- we miss him alot - but by now are used to it. It hurt alot - and then he went a bit funny- BUT that's jeremy and his tween hormones at present. All seems ok now and to be perfectly honest it has made my job alot easier. we can do more school stuff together becasue the ages are closer and I don't feel as much pressure homeschooling someone else's child- I know he is my step son- but I was always scared his Mum wouldn't think I was doing enough- or it right etc. so it is a bit of relief that way I guess:)

I am more relaxed homeschooling now too. I have realised we are doing enough and not put pressure on myself or the kids :0 So we all enjoy it more :)

Last week we went to Sydney for 2 days as an excursion as we are talkin about China in geography. So we went to the Chinese gardens and the kids got dressed up- very cute :) Psome pics :)

Now, this is probably enough photos for one post :) But they are just the start. So we did this on the second day lol- SHould have done it in order hey lol . Anyway........ it made the experience really real for them. It only cost 5 bucks each and they were allowed to wonder aroiund the gardens for ages so they played Chinese princesses as I followed them around- great learning expereince for littleies :)

we also ate traditional Chinese pastries that you can try from the Tea house :0 I liked them- not the girls. they looked like this....    It was a great time- and the kids learnt alot about Chinese gardens- some culture and food :) All in all a successful learning experience was had by all :)

After this we went to Centrepoint tower- but Ileave that for tomorrow, Oh and the first day we went to Chinatown and had a chinese meal in Dixon street... but I'll leave that for another day too. Who thinks I can make another post this week ??????? it could be a risky bet :)

Thanks to anyway still dropping by. I think I will make this a scrppy homeschooling blog- maybe I'll come here more often then lol

I know it's nearly feb- but a calendar???!!!!

This is cut and pasted from the FIskars blog ( I am one of their Ambassadors I know that isn't how you spell that lol). I have not been here for ages :( But we are all well and happy- well mostly. We have had a rough end to the year- but I wont go there tonight- thought you might like to see some of what I have been up to in the hols-scrapping wise. If you are read on... Oh I went to the sweet Kim Archer's Birthday today- had a lovely time catching up and meeting new people - it was lovely :) anyway.....read on if you wish lol

I know it is nearly January- but I have just finished a calendar for my Mum :) it was her birthday on the 16th- so I couldn't share until she had it :) So pleased with myself-finished and posted in time for her birthday :0)

Anyway- I have used everything Heidi Grace or Cloud 9 here- except for 1 or 2 generic flowers. The papers available are amazing :) Anyway.. if it is too late for you this year- maybe it will be something to remember to do next year :) I used a calendar by Paper n Stuff - fun. well here are the pages- they are 7x7 :)

mmm I am still alive

I don't have to think up clever titles anymore for my blog- as it always has somehting to do with me never posting lol!

Anyway.... I am just so busy all the time and when I'm not I am crashed lol - BUT I reembered I had a blog and thougth I's look at it, and then I just started tapping away - cool- better make it worth the 10 bucks a month I've been paying for the priviledge (How do yoyu spell that!)

The kids are watching a movie- so I have a minute I think- maybe a minute> Daisy has discovered the computer and thinks she owns it- she knows how to get onto the net,watched me and knows how to log on with my secret password- mmmmm and then clicks on favourites and away she goes!!! SCARY! I have just ordered some 'stuff' for her to do while we school- becasue she can't spend all day on the pc :)

Speaking of school - now this could be boring- but is for my reference really and anyone interested in homeschooling I guess, all is well- still enjoying the homeschooling experience - it is sometimes more of an EXPEREINCE than others lol- but everyone is still alive - which is a good thing! Molly is reading three letter words- which is nice and knows all the single phonograms-, multiples next- she is doing well- I have found that about 1 1/2 hours is enough for her a day :) but we always do stuff together, I mean the three girls and me. We read lots and are using a curriculum called Five in a row, where we read the same picture book 5 days in a row and focus on a differetn subject, that has arisen in the book and we read about that- eg- Madeline- mgot her appendix out- so we talked about this- subject health. you get the drift!

Lily is doing well too- she is struggling with subtraction with bigger numbers where you need to rename- but we are getting there. She loves History still and we are using a curriculum called The story of the World and we have these neat portfolios, sought of like fancy project books that we are using with it- and both Lily and Molly like this- especially Lil. She is spelling really well- and her piano lessons are going well as too!

and in big news- JEREMY IS LIVING WITH US AGAIN ! He has been with us for 9 weeks now and is staying!He was being homeschooled by his MUm- so I now have 4 kids at home full time. There is a big story that goes with this- but I have no time to go into it now- but it was a micracle reallY! All praise to God for this one!!!! He is doing ok with school- but I hate his curriculum- but too expensive to change for this year- but will be right for next year. He is struggling with Maths- especially fraction work-due to lack of instruction- but he'll get there! It is lovely having him- but of course, brings with it it's own set of challenges. Being a step mother isn't always easy!

I don't really have anything new to share - hang on, maybe there is something....

we went to a local farm place- lovely- the other week - I love this about homeschooling- you get to go places not on the weekends or school holidays and so they aren't as crowded - love that. Here's our baby - growing up!

The big boy- isn't he cute lol. He has the girls at Church swooning atm lol

Lily - my big girl- whose growing up - but still a little girl- lov that!

and the one like me- poor child lol

and me- 17.5kgs lighter- I have made goal and maintenaince andam now a proud life time member of Weight Watchers- YEAH ME  ! lol- I said I wouldn't stop until I had a 6 infront of my weight- and now I am 69 kgs- i would like to get to 65- but i am happy1 I am wearing a size 12 comfortably, I have a size 10 pair of jeans- but think they are a big make and a pair of size 11 just jeans jeans that I fit- but give me a litte muffin top- that i need to eliminate- but I am working on it. Anyway- it has been a long journey since January- but well worth  it. Hope I didn't sound toomuch like a bragger than - oh well lol1

Anyway... again for the few people still bothering to check in - thanks! lol

I have done a couple of fiskars demos too- better blog about these too- next time lol

teaching at Scrapsidaisy and last Scrap Needs newsletter

Hi My 7 friends lol

ok- so 2 weekends ago I went to teach at Wingham- (what a gorgeous country town!) on the nsw mid north coast, near taree, at the mosy beautiful Leisa's shop!!!! Need to get a new link happening on my side bar - i am soo not good at that though lol! It was the sweeteset little shop, with the most lovely ladies! The classes went great (I think!) I was sooo nervous, as it has been ages since I taught! but I think it was ok- and I had fun! Since starting homeschooling I am a bit starved for adult company and I made the most of 'my day out' lol!

Anyway.. thanks Leisa and the divine  Julieann ( blog link following! http://www.scrapwithjules.blogspot.com/ ( need to get that link happening I will come back to it lol I did lol!) who was just soo lovely! i had a great time- thanks! here is a photo from here blog of the day ( hope she doesn't mind lol

Ok- what else- we are having some time off from school too- i really needed it- I have gotten a little scrapping done- more to come-I have scrapped 2 los for karen at KAren's Scrpping Kupboard-(not up on sight yet) and my last projects for SCrap needs! Sadly I resigned this month from the Dt :( it was the first ever Dt i was on). I hav eloved every minute of it- but I have been struggling for a time now to keep up wit the quality and quantity of work produced by the other lovely dter's there- so I have resigned :(

Oh, my kids are all sick- great holiday mmm I went to a lovely homeschooling ladies house yesterday to have a lookie at her 'program' and curriculum and how she 'does things' it waqs lovely. She is gorgeous and I soo hope she doesn't get sick :( I know she wont read this- but thanks anyway Michelle !I am goin to the Muscular distrophy (sp) fundraiser this Saturday- so if you are going- see you there!

2 posts is as many days- what's going on lol

Just thought I would shock myself and post again :) Just to document this horrible weather! Oh my goodness it has been disgusting- we have had no power since 1.30 last night :( Yes, I was up and we had a roof leak- nothing major- but thought I would pick up the candle holder to ahve a look lol- I am smart, really I am, NOT  of course it was hot and I burnt my finger sooo badly- I had to sit up until 4.30 am with my finger in water- reading to touch light lol! With Daisy on my lap becasue the night lite went out!

In the end she came to bed with me and I had to leave the torch on to get her to sleep! HO HUm lol- had no power again today - it has just come back on this afternoon- thank goodness-we are sooo spoilt, we take soo much for granted!!!!

Anyway- we are fine- it is so sad that eople have lost their lives as a result of this storm- very sad - makes my little winge about power seem very selfish!

Anyway... not a great weekend for a birthday but it was my little Daisy Lou birthday on friday..... can you beleive she is 4! I know I can't

mmm, well, oops!

So much for trying to regularly post- in fact I almost just cancelled the whole thing- well, I may as well! I never come here- so why bother lol! OH well- here I am again tap tap tapping-what for I wonder- probably becasue I am such an scrouge ( is that how you spell that? I think not) that I am paying money for nothing, so better say somehting this year lol!

Anyway.....well I guess lots must have been happening, but can I remember, probably not- but something will come to me I guess!

Homeschooling is defintiely 'my life' now- it has taken over as my new obsession! When ever I am on here, I am searching homeschooling sites- curriculum, homeschooling philosophies, approaches, educational websites and so on and so on and so on! I rarley go to a scrapping site now- sad but true! having said that I am extremely happy with lots of beautiful Fiskars/ Heidi grace stuff I have been given form Fiskars to create with :) It is just sooo yummy! I have some new stuff not in stores yet- that should be fun to create with!!!!! Need to 'get to it' I guess! I am actually going to make some time this weekend and have some fun - yeah for me :)

I am also going to Scrapsidaisy to teach a couple of classes at the end of June- so that should be fun- first for me for ages- I hope I am not too rusty :( Fingers crossed)! I am loooking forward to it though!

Still working with Scrap Needs and KSK, be it, I am not doing much- a very slack Dter I am :( I am really lucky these ladies are sooo sweet :)

I don't even think I have anything new or exciting to share on the lo front- hang on- I guessI could find somehting lol let me look

I lo I have done- a while ago though lol- with a photo form Molly's 5th birhtday! Simple but it's got my girl in it- so cute lol!

Another one of my Daisy girl- these were for the Scrap needs newsletter 2 months ago!

I can't seem   to type underneath that last photo :( I have been a long time outta the saddle lol)

OH well- In other home news- all the girls have new short hair dos and Molly's hair is now straight- yep straight!

and Lily has glasses- had her eyes tested and she is shortsighted- poor baby - not really- this is a poor shot- but she looks very cute in them...

She needs to wear them most of the time- not for school stuff though :) and probably will forever :) She is a beautiful girl- but I am biased!

She is doing so well with 'school' too- we went to a homeschooling conference on the weekend- looks like these will replace kiwi scraps lol - I learned alot- and have realised some mistakes made- and how to try and fix them :) I am relaxing more- and Lily is learning more- there is a long whole post there- but it is already late and Nuge is waiting patiently to watch Star trek voyager lol- always sends me to sleep, but I lvoe him and so pretend to enjoy it :) Actually, i like it really!!!

Well- don't want to bore you all to tears after such a long break- all 8 of you roflol!

HOpe you are all well- I think I will actaully do some blog surfing on the weekend too- find out what is actually happening in the scrapping world :)

Thanks to everyone who left a comment on my last post, last year- oops! to say they still bother to come- not sure why you would, but thanks anyway!

Well, it is 2.35 am - yep, you read right :( and i am still wide awake firing on all cylinders!!!! I fell asleep at 8.30pm woke at 10.30 pm and, well, have been awake ever since- noice! Anyway.. after exhasuting rubbish on tele- I have the Davis cup quietly on in the background- I thought I may as well blog!

I have been avoiding it a bit cause it has been so long I don't know where to start- it is all too much lol!

Anyway- we are all well! I am typing away on a new laptop - very exciting, my other PC which is now 4 years old, seems incredibly slow!!!!! and this is just too much fun :)

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a great new year lol- nearly half over lol

*I did do a post ages ago- but presseda wrong button, didn't piblish adn it was gone- got the pooies and that was that :)

*Christmas was lovely, quiet and relaxing- loved it

* joined weight watchers and been on their "Core" program for 5 weeks and have lost 5.2 kgs! very excited- I had 18 kgs to lose- I started at 86.6 and am now the proud owner of a 81.something lol- body! Yah for me! Nigel's ex wife told me I was looking good today- made me smile and made it all worht it lol lol

*we are loving home schooling - loving it!!! I can spaek for Lil casue that's what she is telling everyone! I am so loving having her at home- and feel very proud that we are 'learning' together! ALso Molly is learning her sounds ( we are doing LEm phonics- ) great program btw- and she knows 3 phonograms already- I am proud proud proud! Molly and Diasy are still a preschool 2 days a week- which helps lil and i 'get stuck into it' on those days- all in all it is working- so far :)

* my back is hurting casue this table is too high for typing- so could be a short entry :)

* Nige is snoring away - love him heaps- it is our one year anniversary- tomorrow- I mean today - ahhhhh, can't beleve it was 12 months ago- time flies (and I am still using those pics- thanks Rach :))

* my scrapbooked chore board in SM a couple of issues ago- looks very bright- it si not- it is muted country colours- *sigh*

*my lo in this months- the flower one- was one of my Making memories Masters entries- and is listed as flower accent- it is NOT  an accent it is a 12 x 12 page *sigh* I can't put pics of these up as they are on the other PC- I may one day lol

*Very sad that Kelly is trying to sell scrap needs :( but understnad for her)

*Have had a few exciting scrapping ops come my way- I am now doing a regular children's project for Scrapbook Creations- you know how they used to do them, well they are back and I am doing it each month- Aussie Scrap Source ( should do a link thingo there lol) is sponsering them- yah for you Cheryl!!!! I love kids - so this should be fun :) Just sent my first one in :)

The other op is I am now a Fiskars embassador :) he he sounds so important lol! Should also be fun! They 'own' heidi Grace designs too now and she is coming to Australia this year- should be fun :)

* Kiwi scraps- if I go I am just goin to see firends- I wont do any classes - I don't do classes well :( :) too busy talking and such! So I may just hold court in the bar/ coffee shop :) we'll see

* snoring is getting louder- wonder if I will get any sleep tonight :(

Think that is probably enough dribble for now :) especially without pics - and I have decided that if I don't blog more often it is getting gone - so hopefully I will be back soon!

tap, tap, anyone still here ?????

Well hello,

Does anyone still bother coming here? I am sorry if there is anyone.I have sorta lost interest iin my blog a little - especially since the season is sooo busy and I have litle time :) I also have this very bad habit of comparing myself with others and I know my blog is not particularly entertaining sooooooo I have wondered wether I should bother- just casue It is an ok thing for me to do- but I am obviously a really slack diary keeper lol and maybe, like a lot of things in my life- it has lost it's once passionate appeal.

mmmmm well- I decided to bother tonight :) and will try to bother more often in the future :) Lazy thing I am lol

and thoguht I would catch up on a little stuff that has been happening :)

I love Christmas time and the business of it and just the whole thing of it soooo will start with some Christmas stuff

This is our tree - love lvoe lveo my tree- get a bit funny about how stuff goes on it- especially the tinsel- I need to do that lol Like my wall, that had a door in it 4 years ago when we moved in - Nige closed it over- but this is how it has stayed since then- :) My Nige is a builder- well joiner- if you didn't know :)

Also Since last time Molly has had a birhtday- she is now 5 - where did that time go :(

well- here is my beautiful 5 year old :)

this is the cake she had at her daddy's- I so love that we can all go there and have a cake together- it is soo great :)

how cute- she is 5!

and with her new bike- we have a bike shop at the corner of our street- so we went for a walk, and came back riding the bike- she didn't know- we had it laybyed it was cute- and she did well coming down our little hill :)

this is a Molly photo expose- so better through some others in ....

here is Daisy's new hair cut- very short and cute- great for the pool :0)

She is doing so well in the pool! So proud of her- she has gone from not wanting to leave the step, to jumping in- goign under the water and 'swimming' with a floty vest on to the deep end- amazing how far she has come in a couple of months :)

and here's Lily all dressed up for her scholl presentation night - she looked so cute- they sang 'Rockin Robin' and 'Splish splash' hence the 50's theme :)

She has finished school now and not gogin back next year- as we are homeschooling- now I have good news on that front- the board of Studies inspector came and looked at all the curriculum, read all my programs and talked to us and he recommended we recieve 2 years registration!! Which he says he never gives 2 years (it is the maximum amount of time given) for first timers! So I was really ahppy. This means that they don't need to come abck to see my stuff for lil for 2 years woo hooo

I was alittle stressed about the visit and did lots of extra work for it, but it paid off :)

Now I need to go- it is late- I have sore typign hands and I can't find my glasses, so all this has been a s truggle :) I so hope someone other than me reads this lol

Now as this is so close to Christmas- I want to wish all (or should I say any lol) of you a very merry Christmas!!!! and remember that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON :) Corny, but i like it :)

I really have absolutely nothing to say lol- BUT  thought I needed to post something lol- just for the sake of it :)

I have photos to upload- but they are not downloaded or resized! I am busy with scrap neds newsletter stuff- due tomorrow or so- which is why I am still up :)

Might do a dotti post:

*I have most of lil's school curriculum for next year organised- just need to get somehting for Music- and we are set :) Looking forward to it

* It is Molly's birthday on the 9th- I have a bike laybyed for her :) should be fun- need to organsie a party- running out of time :(

* while swimming in the pool- looked up and saw disy had fallen of the step and was face down (floating beautifully with her vest on- but face down) luckily I was just there and reached over and hauled her up- I didn't take my eyes of her for a minute :( More swimming lesson in order :)

* spent i and half hours this afternoon with one of nigel's friends from his past discusiing our different religious philosophies- he is a Jehovah witness - that was very drainign and I got a headache :(

* I have been drinking 2 litres of water a day this week- can't beleive how much I am goign to the tiolet- I timed myself the first day- every 10 minutes- but it is getting better! I need to lose 20 kgs- mmm I will keep you informed :)

* are having a mini break to Port macquarie this weekend- should be fun- I can't wait Nig has been working 12 hour days- he needs the break! Should be nice to see my Mum :) they have moved into a mobile home and I haven't even been there yet- it has been a while now :)

* had a molly and mum day last week- it was great- she wanted to go to Lone star for lunch \, so we did- she felt so special! SHe talked me into buying her a 'roxy' hat from the surf shop too- lol- it was a great day :) Need to do it with each of them more often :)

*dasiy can't say smack properly and says f##k instead- I am so hoping she doesn't say it in public  :(

mm that's about it- very exciting stuff in the Smith/Lancett household :) I still can't get over that my last name is Smith- well- I haven't officially changed it yet- I have a metal blockage about being Mrs Smith :) I suppose I will get over it. lol
